Les Routiers partners with the SRA!
Les Routiers UK & Ireland has taken another major step towards making sustainability mainstream in restaurants by signing a partnership deal with The Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA).
Weary M25 and M40 travellers should swap the faceless service stations and head for this creeper-clad pub in upmarket Denham. With fine houses and brick-and-timber cottages for neighbours, The Swan Inn boasts a magnificent rear terrace and garden - it must be the best motorway pitstop for miles!
Like its stylish siblings (The Alford Arms in Frithsden, The Royal Oak in Marlow, The Black Horse in Fulmer and the Old Queen’s Head in Penn) The Swan’s single bar and informal dining area has been refurbished with style including rug strewn floors, sturdy tables, cushioned settles and a splendid log fire. A chalkboard menu and printed A la Carte, this is modern pub food at its best. ‘Small plates’ range from rustic breads with roast garlic, balsamic and olive oil for an appetiser, to straters/light meals, such as Oak-smoked Bacon on Bubble-and-Squeak with hollandaise. More substantial offerings include Roast Salt Cod on chorize, Bean and Herb Broth and Confit Duck Leg on potato rosti with beetroot and apple compote. Delicious desserts include Spiced Pear and Frangipane tart.
