Description

Osborne House on the Isle of Wight was Queen Victoria’s country getaway in the mid-1800s.  It has now been re-built to create a family palace of extreme opulence with extravagant interiors, as demonstrated in the Durbar Room.

Osborne House offers a unique glimpse into the private life of Queen Victoria, one of the country’s longest serving members of our royal families, and is filled with original furnishings and priceless works of art.  The grounds immediately surrounding the house are a joy to explore with stunning views of the Solent.  As the island’s most iconic tourist attraction, Osborne House’’s opulent state rooms and superb gardens are undoubtedly a star attraction.

But more than that, it is the uniquely personal and homely “feel” of Osborne House that you will take away with you – a glance into a royal love story, the place in which Victoria and Albert loved best of all.

There is lots for children to do including the Swiss Cottage which has child size furniture and was built to encourage children to learn domestic skills. They can also have fun in the play area or everyone can enjoy a horse and carriage ride.
