Frenchs’ Cosmopolitan Bistro is a small but delightful restaurant in Chulmleigh, Devon that prides itself on sourcing its principal ingredients locally. A member of The Gourmet Society, Frenchs’ Cosmopolitan Bistro is renowned for serving delicious food at reasonable prices, and the restaurant’s popularity is enhanced by the well-attended monthly international cuisine nights which are based on classic dishes from around the globe; a true showcase of the patron chef’s outstanding culinary talents and not to be missed!
Frenchs’ Cosmopolitan Bistro combines excellent cuisine and competitive, value prices. For just £11.95, why not try “Frenchs’ Chicken Celine”, a dish of local, free range chicken breast stuffed with mozzarella and sun-dried tomatoes, wrapped in sheets of Black Forest ham and finished with a mustard cream sauce, served with potatoes and fresh vegetables. Or for just £12.95, there is the local, mouthwatering “Devonshire Cross”, a dish of sirloin steak served with mushrooms, onions, a choice of sauces, potatoes and fresh vegetables.
The majority of the ingredients are sourced locally and from reputable suppliers, particularly the salad leaves and herbs which are generally home-grown in the garden of the patron chef, Dianne French, or by her friends within the parish! - From North: Take Junction 27 off the M5 to Tiverton. Carry on along the A361 to Barnstaple turning off for Rose Ash and then follow the signs at the top of the hill to get to Chulmleigh. When you reach the crossroads in the centre of Chulmleigh turn left and Frenchs' is on your right. From South: Take A30 to Exeter then A377 to Crediton and Barnstaple. Chulmleigh is signposted on the right 2.3 miles past Eggesford station. At the end of Leigh Road when you get to the centre of Chulmleigh turn right towards Chawleigh and Frenchs' is on the right.
