Les Routiers partners with the SRA!
Les Routiers UK & Ireland has taken another major step towards making sustainability mainstream in restaurants by signing a partnership deal with The Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA).
If you take a stroll along Regents Canal, make sure you turn into Quick Street and visit The Charles Lamb pub. There is no missing The Charles Lamb, nestled amongst some fine Islington residences and bedecked with beautiful hanging baskets and flower displays which are maintained exquisitely by owners Camille and Hobby. On arrival, not only will you be welcomed by the extremely efficient and friendly team, but you will also get a warm welcome from Mascha the pub dog who sports a jaunty neck tie (please do not feed Mascha – she is watching her weight!). The daily changed chalkboard menu offers some real delights and the hand pump fine ales on offer are worthy offerings, with the guest ales changing weekly. If you are not an ale drinker, you will be delighted to discover that The Charles Lamb has its own wine label. Sit and relax in one of the two bars and you can also play one of the many varied board games on display. The value on offer cannot be overstated at this truly delightful pub. The quietude this hostelry offers is in sharp contrast to the hustle and bustle on the thoroughfare just around the corner; it is hard to believe you are in the middle of London when you are sitting in The Charles Lamb.
Oh, and a snippet of history… Charles Lamb, the essayist and poet whom the pub is named after, resided in nearby Colebrooke Row.
